Realize a lot has been said but truth is we lost a lot of shipmates and historical info on the DLG when we updated. It's done, it's over and there is not a whole lot that can be done about it now . . . EXCEPT
1 - Try to get the word out to everyone we know that there is a NEW website and it's important they re-register.
2 - Us "older guys", from the DLG days(can we say old farts on the site?) are a little more technically challanged then the "kids" off the CG. It's tougher for us to learn how to navigate, copy and post pictures, etc., So have patience with us.
3 - Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Google, and all them new "techno" things coming out are all commercial sites controled by someone else we do not know and though they may be free today, and fun in some cases, they have their own agenda.
4 - To my knowledge, the agenda of our site is ONLY to get shipmates together at reunions and to collect historical information of interest to us and our children and their childrens children. If we do not do it, the information of our proud heritage will be with our hull and Davey Jones.
5 - I don't think we are running advertising or collecting data for someone else to use.
6 - In the future, when we update the site, and we will because we will have to, let's hope that measures are taken not to lose the info we already have.
Mike - Dennis: Maybe you want to add to this.
The Dale was a Great ship. She served in war and helped keep the peace, she helped protect our kids from drugs and rescued downed pilots and helped others in distress. Whatever she was called to do, she did. To her crew and her allies she was a proud lady. To her enemies, she was a bitch on the 7 seas. Let us be proud of her service and keep her memory alive on this site.
