New Website
Hello all,

Based on a lot of feedback and my dissatisfaction with the current board software, we are going to migrate to a new system.

I know that this is a pain, I also know that this will give use a much better site that will allow all of you to reconnect with your old shipmates.

I promise that we will not be moving it again! This will be the final move.

The good news is that I was able to migrate all the photos over to the new gallery!

Go to http://www.ussdale.com and click through to the new site.

Wecome to the new home of the USS DALE Crew Association
We have finally gotten the website up and running. We appologize for the long delay and the fact that we are starting over from scratch.

A few things to note. This system allows you, the crew, to add items in a number of different places. If you are not logged in you will not be able to see all the content. We would like this to be driven by your experiences and memories but we also need to make sure that the information is pertinent. As a Member y ou can add stuff and participate in discussions on the forums, you can add images to your galleryies, and you can add news items that pertain to the association by submitting news.

Additionally when you sign up you will be asked for some information. PLEASE FILL IT OUT FULLY! We have removed the request for phone numbers as you will be able to update your information as it changes. We do ask that you fill out the form completely as we use this information to keep in touch with you all and to allow mailings to happen. We have set the site so only your state is publically accessable. The rest of the information is available to members and the admins depending on what it is. City shows for Members and the entire address shows for Admins.

Have fun! Fill this site up with all the Dale stories and memorabilia you have or can find. We have plenty of space so get to it!

2009 REUNION UPDATE Feb 18
REUNION UPDATE FEBRUARY 18 2009
Rebecca and I went to Charleston to finalize the hotel contract and to get information on tours and sightseeing. There were several problems that we dealt with but the one problem we could not resolve was the date, there was just too much contention and we were forced to reschedule. I know everyone is trying to schedule vacation time and if this change causes you problems I am sincerely sorry. The new date is to start the reunion on Sunday afternoon OCTOBER 04.
The official 2009 reunion will start on Sunday afternoon and end with a banquet dinner on Tuesday evening. Wednesday will be checkout. There will be tours and other activities throughout Monday and Tuesday. For those of you who wish to stay and enjoy the Charleston charm, we will have a special room rate available and self guided group activities on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
There is much to see and do in the Charleston area and we am working to finalize our agenda. Because of the national economic situation many things are changing almost daily. One thing that is changing in our favor is prices. I was able to get a very good 'all inclusive package' from the hotel. In the next few days I will have a signed contract to cover the rooms, the banquet and use of the hospitality room and all other hotel facilities. I should have the final package ready to publish by next week.
I am always available to answer your questions or concerns at PRESIDENT@USSDALE.COM or on my cell phone 1-570-337-8025et from 3:00pm till midnight most nights.
smooth seas

2009 Reunion
FEBRUARY 06 2009 --The date and location of the USS DALE reunion 2009 have been finalized. The Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview has been selected for Sunday August 30 through Thursday (checkout) September 4. The details are being worked out and should be complete soon, The dates and place are firm but there may be minor changes for the next few months. Keep in mind that this is early February and we are planning for an event over 7 months away in a very uncertain national time. The complete reunion package we are getting is going to provide an excellent reunion at a very reasonable price. Prices continue to fall every week and we are taking advantage of every cost savings we can find.
There will be a tour to Patriots Point with it's Aircraft Carrier and other ships to tour. We will have a family "read spouse" oriented tour, there are many to choose from and that decision will be made soon. The Holiday Inn will provide us with van transportation to downtown Charleston to what they call "museum mile" with many places of interest within walking distance of each other.
I should have a REUNION NEWSLETTER ready to mail very soon. Until then I wish everyone smooth seas and following winds.
